The Texas High School Coaches Association released its all-state academic teams for cross country, football and volleyball.

Spring Branch ISD accounted for more than 30 standout scholars for the fall season.

To qualify for THSCA all-state honors, students must be a senior athlete, student trainer or manager, have good moral character and carry a grade-point average of 92 or better. Qualifiers are ranked in four tiers, with Elite requiring near-perfect academic performance.

Three SBISD athletes gained Elite status. Memorial cross country runners Blakeley Buckingham and Ki Rim Kim made the top tier, as did Stratford football player Robby Eckert.

Memorial led the way with 28 all-state athletes, including first-team cross country scholars Rahil Jagetia, Sean Kennedy and William Jackson.

SBISD produced six first-team football scholars, with Stratford’s Van Heitmann and Memorial’s Ben Baay, Harris Weber, Matthew Muschalik, Nicholas Kroger and Shaun Do making the list.
